There is a number of ways that prospective patients can verify or check the credentials of the clinic or medical facility in Poland before they opt in for a treatment there. Although most of the practises or surgeries in Poland that treat foreigners are amongst the best clinics with most experienced staff, it is always worth checking their credentials. The first step would be to contact the clinic and kindly ask for qualifications and certificates. Polish medical rules and regulations are strict. All medical facilities in Poland need to have the accreditation of the governing body as well as Ministry of Health to run the practise. Only qualified medical professionals can perform health related treatments. Clinics need to have a valid insurance and conform to strict health and safety standards. Controls by health and safety regulating body (SANEPID) are very common and there has been cases where clinics were closed down because they hadn’t fully conform to those rules. Clinics should also be able to demonstrate the examples of work they have done to prospective patients. The best clinics usually display their work after obtaining permission from their patients. As mentioned earlier, every health practise and medical individual are governed by a specific body in Poland (i.e. The Polish Chamber of Physicians and Dentists is a professional and independent organisation for physicians and dental practitioners). Public can contact the relevant institution and check if a surgery or a health professional are who they say they are and if they have a valid permission to perform the profession
